| Requirement | David Mellor a world renowned Sheffield Based designer, famous for everything from Traffic Lights to Cutlery. His Design house approached us to offer a coating system for a one off bench, this must offer the benefits of long term metal protection whilst still giving an aesthetically pleasing result. |
Solution
Working with the customer closely, a suitable colour was selected and sourced for the end product. Using the ‘Extra Life system’ from Akzo Nobel. We produced a finish that should last up to 15years. A combination of shot blasting, pre-treatment with primers and top coats was used.
Logistics
The customer based in the Peak District requested the use of one of our vehicle fleet to assist with the transportation of the bench.
Our Challenge
We had a number of challenges with this particular project. The environment where the bench was to be set, the durability of the finish as well as the type of look that was wanted. This was all in addition to the specialist design which created handling issues with both the weight and the size.
